Stack Mode brings back the gameplay from the original Not Tetris. This means that density is less important for multiple line clears compared to singles. Where density is the average number of blocks per cleared line divided by 10. Scoring is based both on the number of lines cleared and on the block density of the lines cleared (but not on the current level). As a result, it is possible to clear more than 4 lines at once. Line clears are only checked at the moment a piece locks (when it touches the stack). These fragments will then fall by gravity. When lines are cleared, only the portions of the pieces that are inside the line are removed, causing the pieces to be sliced if necessary. Every 10 lines advances the game's level, increasing the falling speed of pieces.Ī line is considered cleared if it contains at least 8.1 blocks, or slightly under 80% full (as lines in this mode are 10.25 blocks wide). GE is the only one that didn't seem to have problems with the tutorial videos, however.Normal mode has gameplay similar to conventional Tetris, in that the player must try to clear lines in order to survive. I've tried with latest, Experimental, and latest GE Protons, and all have these behaviours. Sometimes the gamepad won't work at all, and I have to quit and relaunch the game (nothing else changes), and then it works. It's particularly bad for people trying to game in Big Picture mode, treating Steam like a game console, using a gamepad and not keyboard/mouse. Once in a while, it'll work fine a couple launches in a row, but then it just goes back to this stupid behaviour. A similar problem happens in Fullscreen mode, but it behaves even worse for me. The game window jumps off to the side and I can't see anything unless I drag the window over and go into settings and change the settings and get it back to Borderless. TETRIS FULL SCREEN 1080PI am also having this problem, but I only have one 1080p monitor (a projector, technically) connected. Upon launching it in fullscreen 1080p resolution and once the loading screen shows up, sometimes the game will reposition itself to appear on both monitors split in half, and changing the resolution to something else and back to 1080p fixes this, with it fully displaying on my primary 1080p monitor. Using the arrow keys to browse the menus doesn't cause this when VSync is on. Lastly, not sure if this is specific to this game as I've had a similar issue with Days Gone too but turning on VSync leads to the FPS dropping to 30 or lower when moving the mouse (on Days Gone it happens regardless of mouse movement), however, the Steam FPS counter still displays 60. Applying it causes it to revert back to 1 and ignore the change. Trying to change the monitor in the settings to 2 does not work, and the only resolution displayed is 0x0. In addition, the game does not seem to detect my primary/2nd monitor (a 1080p 240Hz monitor) and instead uses my secondary monitor (a 1440p 60Hz monitor) and shows resolutions up to 1440p in the options. Just wanted to add to this, I'm also having freezes whenever a level transition happens (although this only happens for the first time, so I reckon it may be shader compiling) and an incredibly long startup time (~1 min before I can see the loading screen). Go into the Options->Tutorial section and select any tutorial. Still writing it here in case that's not the real issue or if someone have the same problem. I believe this is due to MF codecs.Īdditionally, there are a lot of heavy lag spikes on my side, but I've been told that's probably because the steam version just came out so shaders are compiled at runtime on the fly instead of pre-computed. The tutorials video are broken and shows a placeholder instead. that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.Link to full system information report as Gist:.Name of the game with compatibility issues: Tetris Effect: Connected.
